I'M DARA,

I was born in New Jersey and am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Cardozo School of Law. BUT, after practicing law for many years, I returned to school to take classes in interior design and architecture, my hidden passions.

Through my art, I have been able to my channel my love of vintage and antique textiles and interesting color combinations into wall decor. I currently paint on paper, media board, canvas and wood using cold wax and oil and acrylics.

I am inspired by the philosophy of "wabi sabi" and use many layers of paint and wax to create visual textures and patinas. My formal training includes workshops with Robyn Cole and Jerry McLaughlin.
